Great location near Bilbao with easy access to the subway and a quiet, rural atmosphere. The surrounding countryside offers beautiful walks and there are local cafes and bakeries within minutes of the hotel. Also, having a car is convenient for visiting the nearby beaches and there is free parking available.
On the downside, the bed was a bit creaky and there was limited seating in the room, making it difficult to relax comfortably. Additionally, the bathroom could use some renovation, especially the shower.

the farmhouse exceeded my expectations. the single room with original stone wall was spacious and had a comfy bed. the annex had a secure entrance and shared kitchenette. the location was perfect, just a 5-minute walk to the metro and away from city noise. the owner, John, spoke English and was very helpful.
Bathroom needed renovation, especially the shower.

This country house had a wide variety of beaches nearby, where I could surf the web while enjoying the lovely garden. Plus, I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of being managed by a professional host, what a treat!
What a shame that I couldn't find a sink in the shared kitchen, I guess washing fruit and vegetables is so overrated.

The guestrooms at Casa Rural Ortulane are cozy and welcoming. The wooden floors give a rustic charm, and the free WiFi is a great plus for someone like me who loves to stay connected. The private bathroom with free toiletries adds a touch of convenience, and the TV in the room is perfect for winding down after a long day of exploring.
Personally, I would have preferred if the rooms had a mini fridge. But hey, that's just my opinion, others might not see it as a drawback at all!

Gorgeous farmhouse with a lovely garden. The metro station nearby was a lifesaver for exploring Bilbao. Plenty of bars and restaurants to try. Managed by a professional host, so no awkward encounters with the owner's eccentric family.
Oh, how I loved sleeping on that rock-hard bed and waking up in the middle of nowhere with no services around. So peaceful.

I gotta say, I got a great deal for my money at Casa Rural Ortulane Guest House. The room was clean, spacious, and cozy with an awesome stone wall. And the location was perfect for me, surrounded by peaceful hills and forests but still close enough to hop on the metro and explore the city. The owner, Jon, was a gem too - super friendly and accommodating!
The breakfast selection could've been better, maybe some more variety would've been nice.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location was great for me, as it was surrounded by hills and forests, perfect for exploring. The hotel itself was a beautiful old farmhouse that had been renovated to offer modern comforts. My room was clean, spacious, and had original stone walls. The owner was punctual, kind, and spoke English, which was a great help. I also appreciated the shared kitchenette and the convenience of the nearby metro station, which allowed me to easily explore the city and nearby beaches. the hotel had a friendly staff, was clean, and had lovely gardens.
Don't have any issues at all.

The friendly staff and immaculately clean accommodations made us feel right at home. The lovely garden was a perfect space for our children to play and explore. We especially appreciated the convenience of being able to help ourselves to tea, coffee, and breakfast at any time. The short 5-minute walk to the metro allowed us easy access to beautiful beaches in Urduliz, Gorlix, and Plentzia, where the sandy shores and fantastic bars and restaurants made for unforgettable family outings. Additionally, the metro made it effortless to venture into Bilbao. We are definitely planning to return!
My wife says that there was nothing to complain about!

The location of the hotel was ideal, with easy access to the nearby village and a metro station just a short walk away. the rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. the breakfast, although simple, was satisfactory and reasonably priced.
The facilities could use some improvement, particularly the outdated bathroom and lack of sink in the shared kitchen for washing fruits and vegetables.

As a solo traveler, I loved the easy access to the surrounding hills and forest areas for enjoyable hikes. The owner of the house was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The renovated house offered a comfortable and modern stay, preserving its old and authentic charm. Having a rented car from Bilbao airport made it convenient to explore the nearby beaches and suburbs, and the proximity to the airport was a plus.
Felt like part of the family, no complaints.
